Child Safety and Wellbeing Statement
South West Rocks Pre School is unwavering in its commitment to the safety, wellbeing and support of all children. Every child has the right to feel safe, valued and respected, and our entire preschool community shares responsibility for upholding this right at all times.
Management, educators, staff and volunteers treat all children with the utmost respect, understanding and dignity. We actively foster an environment where children's voices are heard, their identities are honoured and their rights are protected.
All educators, staff and volunteers are committed to identifying possible risk and significant risk of harm to children and young people. We understand our duty of care to protect children from all forms of abuse and neglect, and we uphold our moral, ethical and legislative obligations without exception. This includes maintaining vigilance, responding to concerns promptly and appropriately, and working collaboratively with families and relevant agencies to support child safety and wellbeing.
Our Guiding Framework
Our approach is grounded in the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (V2.0, 2022), which reminds us that educators lead their own ethical practice as they take professional and personal responsibility for their actions and the decisions they make. Collaborative leadership and teamwork are built on a sense of shared responsibility and professional accountability for children's learning, development and wellbeing.
At South West Rocks Pre School, this philosophy is reflected in our everyday practice. We work as a unified team, guided by professional integrity, reflective practice and a deep commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for every child.
