Grandfriends

Intergenerational Visits

Grandfriends Intergenerational Visits began in 2025, bringing together children from our Whales room and older adults to build warm and meaningful relationships.

Each week, a small group of children walk with their educators to The Mariner (Calvary Aged Care Facility), where they share morning tea, stories, songs and games with residents.

These regular visits nurture empathy, confidence and communication skills in our children, while providing joy and companionship for our Grandfriends. Over time, genuine friendships form and the excitement and sense of belonging shared by both young and old brings huge smiles all round.
